Voicu Oprean

Voicu Oprean is CEO of AROBS Transilvania Software, which he founded more than 25 years ago. Today, AROBS employs more than 1,200 specialists across 10 countries, in Europe, North America and Asia. AROBS, the largest IT company listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB), completed in July 2024 the most significant capital increase by a technology company on the BVB, raising €28.7 million and attracting eight prestigious institutional investors, including the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

Under Oprean’s leadership, AROBS continues to grow through innovative software products, world-class development services, and strategic acquisitions. He has also championed employee development, making AROBS one of the few publicly listed Romanian companies to implement a free Stock Option Plan.

An active entrepreneur and investor, Oprean supports multiple startups, including NewCar4Future, Extasy, RFMeter, and Skillview. He also mentors emerging founders and collaborates with venture capital firms such as Cleverage and Early Game Ventures, reinforcing his commitment to nurturing the next generation of business leaders.

A lifelong learner, Oprean earned a bachelor’s degree in computer automation from the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, Romania, his MBA from Babeș-Bolyai University (RO), and an EMBA from Wu Wien, Austria. He has also completed YPO leadership programs at London Executive Business School and Harvard Business School. Dedicated to giving back, he teaches at Cluj’s leading universities, sharing his knowledge and entrepreneurial experience.
