Varun Sheth

Varun Sheth is the Co-Founder and CEO of Ketto.org, Asia’s largest online crowdfunding platform that uses technology to optimize efficiency, reduce redundancy, and increase impact targeting the social sector of the country. 

Realizing early that technology and the transparency gap between the donor and the recipient were the major roadblocks in the funding process, Sheth launched Ketto, short for ‘Key to Tomorrow,’ in August 2012, and the platform has since become a carrier of change for many. 

The company works closely with hospitals, nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) and individuals to bring positive change to the community. Ketto has helped more than 200,000 people start fundraisers to raise over USD14.62 million of funds for startups, health and medical emergencies, women empowerment, among others.  

Sheth has demonstrated an instrumental growth for Ketto even in unprecedented times. During the pandemic, Ketto hosted over 11,000 fundraisers and raised more than USD15.31 million. The platform partnered with Amazon to support local Indian businesses recovery and Bollywood actor Sonu Sood to set up a 24/7 helpline number for the medical care and treatment of children.

Today, Sheth has steered Ketto to stratospheric heights, and his oracle-like vision and growth strategy are now the stuff of corporate legend. He was named to Forbes 30 Under 30 List (2017), Fortune magazine’s 40 Under 40 List (2018) and the Economic Times 40 Under 40 List (2019). He has spoken at the Harvard Business School, TEDx, Institute for Applied Study, Indian Institutes of Technology and Tata Institute of Social Sciences.
