Rob Hunter joined Goldman Sachs’ Investment Strategy Group in June 2022 as a Geopolitical Strategist. He was previously a Senior Professional Staff Member on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and Director for Defense Policy and Strategy on the National Security Council staff. A career U.S. Marine, helicopter pilot, and Middle East specialist, Hunter served in Iraq and Afghanistan, on deployments throughout Asia and East Africa, and on assignments in Japan and the United Arab Emirates. He earned a B.A. in history from Vanderbilt University and an M.A. in national security affairs from the Naval Postgraduate School.
