Riaz Shah, OBE

After 27 years as a partner at EY, Riaz Shah is Professor of Practice for Innovation and Leadership at Hult International Business School, where he leads sessions with senior executives, focusing on global megatrends, digital disruption and innovation.

At EY, Riaz served clients in Assurance and Technology Consulting and held various business leadership roles including Assurance Managing Partner in London and Chief Operations Officer of EMEIA Markets. In his most recent role as Global Learning Leader, he prepared EY’s more than 400,000 employees for the future of work. That included delivering more than 24 million hours of learning every year and creating world-first innovations such as the EY Tech MBA.  

Reflecting his interests – technology, education and enterprise – Riaz is engaged in a portfolio of projects, including advising several CEOs, working with governments on education and entrepreneurship initiatives, and hosting tech programs for senior executives in Silicon Valley.

Riaz is a Founder and Chair of The One Degree Academy, a free school in a disadvantaged area of London and advises several social enterprises and coaches start-up CEOs. In 2023, King Charles III awarded Riaz with an Order of the British Empire (OBE) for services to education.

He studied at Bradford University UK, Harvard Business School and Singularity University (EP17), and is a chartered accountant.  He was a member of the Global Alumni Board of Harvard Business School.
