Eduardo della Maggiora

Founder and CEO Betterfly , Latin America

A two-time world champion runner-up in his category at the Ironman 70.3 World Championships, as well as a three-time finisher of the Ironman World Championships in Hawaii, Eduardo della Maggiora took his love for sports and health and founded Betterfly, the only purpose-driven, benefits platform that transforms the healthy habits of individuals and companies into financial protection and social impact.

Della Maggiora believes small changes can make a big difference in people’s lives, families and community. That is why his platform provides access to digital benefits and tools to improve the well-being, engagement and purpose of organizations and their employees.

Betterfly allows companies and employees, through their daily activities, to leave a legacy in their communities and the planet by rewarding healthy habits — like walking, meditating, saving and resting — with rewards, charitable donations and a life insurance coverage that grows free of charge for you. Employees can use the coins they earn through their activities (Bettercoins) to plant trees, supply drinking water or help fight child malnutrition, among other social causes.

Betterfly, a certified B corporation, operates in eight countries and has more than 4,000 corporate clients. In 2022, Betterfly became Latin America’s first “Social Unicorn,” a private company valued in more than USD1 billion with social impact embedded in its business model and corporate structure.

“Our vision is to create a world in which every person is empowered to live their best life,” della Maggiora says. “We want to do this globally and ubiquitously by partnering with the world’s leading organizations and nonprofits. By 2030, we want to positively impact 300 million lives and strive to become the world’s most impact-centric company.”

In 2022, della Maggiora was awarded as Entrepreneur of the Year in Chile by Ernst & Young. In 2021, he was recognized among the 500 most influential people in Latin America by Bloomberg and in 2020, he was named Entrepreneur of the Year 2020 by Chile’s Universidad del Desarrolo.
