The YPO Global Impact Award is YPO’s highest honor to members that recognizes their impact outside of YPO, celebrating chief executive impact that is both sustainable and scalable. An honoree was selected from each of our 14 regions with Rodrigo being the honoree for Latin America.
“Rodrigo is an outstanding leader who has had amazing impact on the lives of millions of young people. He is an inspiration to his fellow YPO members and our global community,” says Pascal Gerken, Chair of the YPO Global Impact Award program and 2018-2019 YPO Chairman.
Rodrigo created Recode 25 years ago to fight the digital divide. Recode creates and disseminates entrepreneurship training and the use of digital tools to support facilitators in low income communities and its youth to reprogram their realities.
Over the past 25 years, Recode has established a presence in nine countries with 1,150 centers of digital empowerment, in collaboration with more than 2,500 educators and impacting 1.7 million young individuals (14 to 29 years old) worldwide.
“I am so humbled to be recognized for our efforts throughout Latin America with this award,” says Rodrigo. “We firmly believe that it is essential to humanize the fourth industrial revolution, bringing ethics and values to the world of exponential technologies. Recode’s digital empowerment centers work in this direction by training young people in technology, entrepreneurship and socio-emotional skills, contributing to the construction of a better society.”
