Episode 70: Shiyin Cai (Dialogue in the Dark), Shanghai, China

After YPO member Shiyin Cai graduated college in Hangzhou, China, she went to the United States for her MBA. Shiyin began her career at GE, where she was a campus recruiter and later CIO and CTO in their Asia Pacific division. In her travels around the world with GE, Shiyin came across a German company called Dialogue in the Dark and its sibling Dialogue in the Silence, a company that uses darkness and silence to improve communication skills in leaders.

After working as their global COO, Shiyin returned to China to run her family businesses in museums and education. But she brought with her a license to open Dialogue in the Dark in China. Today, 70 percent of their guides and trainers are visually or hearing impaired.

In this episode, Shiyin shares why we sometimes need to go into complete darkness in order to see with full clarity.
