From apartheid to the FIFA World Cup, South Africa has experienced an epic transformation in the last 25 years. With local YPO members as their hosts, participants will be inspired by the country’s thriving business community, mesmerized by its natural beauty and wildlife, challenged by its intellectual prowess, surprised by its sophistication, fascinated by its diversity, and humbled by its strength.

Ubunto:  A Xhosa (Zulu) word that means, “I am who I am through you.” A phrase used by Nelson Mandela as he ushered in a new era for South Africa…

  • representing the interconnectedness of all humankind…
  • the connection between peers that is the very essence of YPO…
  • a key element of the South Africa Presidents’ University.

Members and spouses/partners have the opportunity to engage with 350 peers from every corner of the globe against the backdrop of:

  • Lions, elephants, leopards, rhinos and buffalos…a wilderness classroom for unrehearsed adventure with expert rangers and the “Big 5”.
  • Spectacular social events in cosmopolitan Cape Town, showcasing the region’s unique culinary traditions, wine, culture, music, and entertainment.
  • Immersive learning through the local, ancient art of storytelling as attendees experience first-hand the metamorphosis of the region.
  • Inspiration from South African business and political leaders, scientists and ordinary citizens who have accomplished the extraordinary.

Wild beauty, dangerous progress, amazing diversity, outrageous landscapes, inspirational people. Discovery, transformation and lifelong memories. As is often said, “As goes Africa, so goes the rest of the world.”
